MicroDivorce Representation Agreement

Scope of the Representation

Thank you for choosing MicroDivorce. This agreement explains the scope of our representation, the nature of the MicroDivorce process, and the responsibilities of both the client and the attorney.

MicroDivorce is a guided flat-fee divorce service for qualifying Oklahoma agreed divorce cases. The service is designed for cooperative spouses who are willing to complete the divorce by agreement and sign the documents necessary to finalize the case. Representation is provided by an Oklahoma attorney, but the process is limited in scope and intended for uncontested matters.

Our representation is based primarily on the information you provide during the intake process, Client Report, communications with our office, and supporting documents you submit. We generally do not conduct independent investigations regarding the accuracy of the information provided to us, so it is important that all information be complete and truthful.

Agreed Divorce Requirement

The flat fee quoted to you is based on the expectation that your matter will proceed as an agreed divorce without contested hearings, litigation, or substantial disputes between the parties.

If your spouse refuses to cooperate, refuses to sign documents, hires an attorney, contests the divorce, or if the matter otherwise becomes disputed or more complicated than originally represented, then additional fees may apply and the matter may fall outside the scope of the MicroDivorce process. In those situations, we may recommend a consultation, expanded representation under a separate agreement, or withdrawal from representation if appropriate under Oklahoma law and court rules.

Included Services and Scope

Unless otherwise stated in writing, the flat fee generally includes attorney review of your intake materials, preparation of agreed divorce documents, filing the Petition for Divorce, payment of the standard court filing fee, preparation of the final Decree of Divorce and related agreed documents, and appearance at an uncontested hearing when necessary.

The flat fee does not include contested litigation, emergency hearings, appeals, post-decree disputes, retirement division orders such as QDROs, business valuation services, tax advice, or other matters outside the agreed divorce process.

Division of retirement benefits may require additional court orders and separate legal work beyond the divorce itself. Unless specifically included in writing, retirement division orders and similar documents are not included in the standard flat fee and may require additional fees.

Representation begins only if the office agrees to accept the matter and a written engagement agreement is completed.

Client Responsibilities

Your cooperation is essential to the success of the process. You agree to provide complete and accurate information, respond to requests from our office, review documents carefully, and communicate promptly regarding your case.

Unless otherwise agreed, you are also responsible for communicating with your spouse regarding the agreed terms of the divorce and obtaining necessary signatures and information from your spouse.

Communication and Confidentiality

Because MicroDivorce operates primarily online, communication may occur through email, online forms, telephone, video conference, and electronic document sharing. You consent to reasonable electronic communication regarding your matter.

Communications between you and our office are protected by attorney-client confidentiality, and you should avoid sharing confidential legal communications with third parties.

Court Approval and Outcome

Although agreed divorces are commonly approved by Oklahoma courts, no attorney can guarantee any specific result or outcome. Final approval of all divorce documents remains subject to review and approval by the court.

Beginning of Representation

Representation does not begin merely because you submit information through the website or complete an intake form. Representation begins only after attorney review, acceptance of the matter by our office, and receipt of the required payment.

Payment and continued participation in the MicroDivorce process constitute acceptance of this agreement.

Delays and Withdrawal

If your matter remains inactive for an extended period of time due to delay, lack of cooperation, or failure to provide requested information, additional fees may apply before work resumes.

We reserve the right to withdraw from representation if continued representation becomes impractical, if payments are not made, or if withdrawal is otherwise permitted under Oklahoma law and court rules.

Governing Law

This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Oklahoma, and any disputes arising from this agreement shall be handled in Cleveland County, Oklahoma unless otherwise required by law.

Agreement and Acceptance

By submitting payment and continuing with representation, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this agreement and agree to the terms described above.
